1.  Be Respectful.

5.  Raise your hand when you have questions or something to share.

6.  We are quiet when others are speaking.

7.  Be polite and show kindness.

8.  Our classroom rules apply at all times, both inside and outside of the classroom.


                  Rewards for Good Behavior

              *Marble Jar Incentive -  Children may earn marbles, as a group or individually, that will be placed in the marble jar.  When the jar is filled, the class has earned a special treat.  Marbles may be removed from the jar for group misbehavior. 

                 Consequences for Inappropriate
                              Behavior

1.  Reminder/ Teacher Warning
2.  Student is redirected or removed from activity.
3.  Student is given time for reflection.
4.  Parent notification by note, phone call or conference.  Principal is informed of problem/situation and how the problem has been addressed.
5.  Student is directed to the principal.*

     *Note:  Steps 1 through 3 may be skipped based on severity of misbehavior.


                                    2 - West

1. Be polite, courteous, and respectful at all times

2. Obey all school rules

3. Be quiet in lines, hallways, and restrooms

4. Raise your hand and wait to be balled on during a lesson

5. Always put your best foot forward and try your best!

Supportive Feedback

1. Verbal recognition

2. Individual Rewards such as:
        a. Positive notes sent home to parents
        b. Positive phone calls to parents
        c. Positive notes to students
        d. Positive note to the principal
        e. Classroom privileges (including but not              
            limited to:)
                    i. extra computer time
                    ii. free choice academic time
                    iii. “buddy pass” - being able to sit
                            next to a friend for the day

Corrective Actions

First time student breaks a rule: redirection and verbal reminder
Second time student breaks a rule: redirection and second verbal reminder
Third time student breaks a rule: Name on board, with the opportunity to have it erased with a positive change in behavior through the remainder of the day

**If the behavior does not improve and the child’s name remains on the board, parents will be called to discuss the situation. Students will also complete a behavior journal entry. 

**All names are erased to begin a new day!

**Parents may be asked to meet with the teacher and the student in order to complete the behavior contract

**If the behavior does not improve after a contract is made, further corrective actions may be taken and a meeting with the principal and/or school counselor may be necessary.
