Dear Parents and Guardians:

Lent is a time of preparing our hearts for Easter. Our students are taught that during this time, prayers, fasting and acts of kindness to others can help us all see Jesus more clearly and hear him speak to us in our hearts. Praying, fasting, and acts of kindness as a family, allow students the ability to practice what they learn. They see parents as role models–practicing the faith. Throughout Lent, grades 5-8 will attend Stations of the Cross on Wednesdays at approximately 1:25. Please feel free to join us at this time.

Students in grades 3-8 will take the IOWA tests during the first 2 weeks of March. Some good practices to ensure optimal results for each student include:

A good night’s sleep
Resolve any problems
Begin each day as you normally do
Eat a good breakfast
Relax and think about what you will do after school today
Think positive
When taking the test:

Ask directions if you don’t understand something
Read ALL of the answers before choosing the best one
Don’t spend too much time on one answer
Don’t change your answers unless you are absolutely sure
If you finish early check over your work

The make-up day for class pictures will be Friday, February 26th. Students will wear their school uniforms.

Congratulations to the PTA on a successful Karaoke Night. The current fundraiser is Cinderella Cheesecake.

As a reminder, afterschool payments are due at the beginning of every week and club payments are due at the beginning of each month.

We kindly ask that textbook forms, bus transportation forms, and re-registration forms for the 10-11 school year be returned as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful week.

During the season of Lent, I will spirtally change by talking nicer to my parents. I almost always talk disrespectfully to my parents and I usually feel bad about it later. My parents do a lot for me and I think I owe it to them. I hope they know I dont try to talk mean to them and I will try to do better.

I will do my best to not sin and if I do to go to confession. I will pray six times before i go to bed. I will also listen to the priest at sunday mass.I will try to do Gods will. I will stay strong with my faith.

During this season of Lent, I will spiritually change by helping my paralyzed brother do physical things. Like helping him learn how to walk and helping him reach for stuff he cant reach, also changing my additude at home and school. Also doing my BEST IN SCHOOL.:)
