Hi Everyone,

We are almost at the end of our first full week of class. You have done a terrific job this year. This has been the smoothest opening I can remember. During today’s prayer time, Jesus tells us, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This is a very important message. We have many new students in our school this year. Are you treating them the way that you would want to be treated if you were in a new school? How many new friends have you made so far this year? What have you done to make our new friends feels special?

We had an excellent fire drill and lock down practice! These practices will continue every month–even in cold weather, rain, and snow. Always remember to be quiet and follow directions during drills.

There are many planned activities for this school year that I know you will enjoy. Enjoy the weekend, you deserve it.

I have tried to make the new students feel safe, special, and welcomed this year. I would want to be treated this way if I were a new student. Jesus wants people to feel safe in many ways.I am going to have a little sister and i will try my best to keep her safe and maybe help her when she needs help with something. I want to live as Jesus taught me how to live. Today our journal was What things make you happy. I wrote that i try my best to welcome new people. I also remember when i came out of kindergarten and into this building i was not that sure if i knew anybody then people started welcoming me. I will always remember that first day of 1st grade.
