Wow!  We have made it through our first month of school!  As I walk through the building, I see everyone hard at work. As I talk to you throughout the day, you tell me about everything you are learning.  I am very impressed and so proud of you.

Our Open House is this week and your parents will be able to come to school to meet your teachers and see your classrooms. This is always an exciting time.

In our morning prayers, we have continued to read from the Gospel of Luke. Our reflection question today asked if the disciples understand how Jesus uses his power? What do you think?  Thank you first and second grades for your artistic portrayal of Luke 9:46-48.

Our afterschool clubs begin next week.  Please be sure to sign-up by Thursday so that we can have an accurate count.

Are you ready for the cooler weather?  October is dress to the weather month.

What a great opening! It was wonderful to see all of your smiling faces, again.  As I walked through the building this week, I saw everyone hard at work, already. We are off to a terrific start.

Our Gospel reading, today, was from Luke 6:27-31, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”  I think this is something we should repeat everyday.  Thinking of others and their feelings is what Jesus wants us to do. Remember, God loves each and every one of us–we are his children.

Many of you expressed an interest in learning to play a band instrument.  There is a meeting for your parents on Monday, Sept. 12th at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria.

Lent is the time to prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. Many things in our lives can distract us for God.  It is during Lent that we focus our hearts and minds firmly on God.  Prayers, fasting and acts of charity allow us to listen to God speak to us in our hearts.
